Aldi offers more than just inexpensive groceries. Sometimes you can find inspiration.
As I mentioned in the Product Profile for Pumpkin Cider Lip Balm, I love Aldi (#notsponsored). One of my favorite things about it is that you can find all kinds of great, inexpensive German food. This is most evident at Christmastime, when you can find all sorts of cookies, chocolates, and other goodies to add to your own traditional Christmas banquet. One of my favorites things to get used to be a bag of pfeffernüsse: soft, chewy gingerbread cookies coated in either a sugar glaze or dark chocolate.
I say “used to be” as I am vegan and they are not (ironically, I’m pretty sure it’s just the coatings that are not – the glaze because of gelatin and the chocolate because of milk. Get your act together, Aldi!).
Luckily, you can experience the flavor of pfeffernüsse with Pfeffernüsse Lip Balm! It’s a gorgeous combination of spices with a hint of chocolate. I hate to toot my own horn, but I feel that I’ve pretty much nailed it. It’s so rich and delicious without being too sweet or too heavy. As I mentioned last week, Snowball Lip Balm is my #1 favorite lip balm of all time, but this one is a very very very very close second.
